About Project LUYANDO

Taken from the Zambian term for love, Project LUYANDO is an art-based initiative dedicated to championing the quality of life for orphaned African children by providing orphanage support and continued education through all art proceeds.

Headquartered in Norwalk, Connecticut, Project LUYANDO was founded in 2011 by Carlie Tardino. After a moving visit to the Kasisi Childrens’ Home in Lusaka, Africa, Carlie was inspired to help. Upon sharing her experience with several dedicated friends, they collaborated on how to create a recurring revenue stream for the children by sharing the artwork done by the children with supporters back home and thus Project LUYANDO was born. Money is collected through The Friends of Kasisi, a registered 501(c)3 charity based in Darien, Connecticut.
